Aiken South Carolina Railroad Museum Project
Scale: HO
CMR is building a series of model railroad dioramas for a new museum in Aiken
South Carolina. Each diorama is roughly twenty square feet in size and represents
scenes along the Southern Railway in 1916.There will be nine dioramas in all.
Every structure will be built from the ground up and will be as accurate as possible.
This will be a long project so you will see photos of this for quite a while.
We are currently finished with the towns of Aiken, Aiken "East", Blackville, Branchville,
and Summerville photos are below. We still have some details to add. Under construction is Denmark, Saint Georges, Charleston and Hamburg.
If you click on the images you can download a larger image for your review. Please note these are quite large.

We have begun building structures and dioramas for this layout while we await room in our shop
to begin the benchwork and for the county to approve building plans for its home.
Across the street from Mt. Roayal station sits the symphony hall. This will tie in beutifully
with the other modern buildings on this layout.
Lots of LEDs light up this building.
This building is insane! We had the time (over 150 hours) so we super detailed every office and the lobby. There are
over five hundred pieces of furniture and one hundred figures. Luckily the kids are out of school and could
be recruited for this.
Here it is being assembled. Each floor was pre-assembled, lit and detailed prior to stacking. The
columns and rods go all the way thru the building and hold it all together.
Modern buildings are the toughest to build, there is no room for error. We're pretty pleased with this one.
It all lights up too.
Two major ship models have been built,a tramp bulk frieghter and a small modern container ship. No pirates please.
Each ship has approximatley 200 hours of work involved in it. The hulls are cast plaster and the superstructures are
acrylic, plastic, metal and plaster. These will NOT be sold as kts, but as always everything is available
custom built.
Camden Station will be one of three stations in Baltimore.

Judy's Jams & Jellies
Scale: HO
Size: 15.5"W x 5"D x X 7.75" tall
We have a client whose wife makes the most amazing jelly and jam. Whenever we stop by, we leave with
a handful of jars and smiles on our faces. So we named a factory in her honor.
A Jelly factory? What were we thinking? Well... think of the possibilities, fresh fruit
from the south, jars from the glass factory, labels and boxes from the printer, sugar from
the refinery... sorry, no chemicals or preservatives here. And then it all goes back out as freight
to the grocery wholesaler. That could be quite a bit of rail traffic.
This is scheduled to become a kit sometime next year. We will be making several kits to help transition
from downtown to the warehouse district along the tracks.
