Historical Notes: The American Brewery was built in Baltimore in 1887 by John Frederick Wiessner. The central tower contained a 10,000 bushel grain elevator. It was home to American Beer from the 1950s to 1973.

The American Brewery is commonly considered one of the finest examples of American Gothic architecture. It stands high on a hill in East Baltimore, where it's irregular design and silhouette may be seen for miles.
