Custom Model Railroads specializes in the design and manufacture of model railroads, custom built structures
and kits.

We have been in business since 1991, building private, corporate and museum layouts as well as custom structures and models. We also manufacture building kits that you can buy and assemble yourself.

The custom layout portion of this site lets you explore the process of how we design and build a layout for you. There are numerous samples of our work for your review in our galleries.

The building kits portion of this web site features our various kits in HO and N scale as well as the process of having one-of-a-kind structures built.

The Current Projects section of the site allows you to see work in progress in our shop. We try to update this every couple of weeks.

04/04/2012 NEW GALLERY of the Golden Gate Bridge model that we are building in 1:1000 scale.

01/06/2012 New photos of the Flint Hills Discovery Center. exhibit showing life along the ATSF in the Flint Hills of Kansas.

02/14/2012 NEW PHOTOS - There is a new gallery for the Suspension Bridge. This is a massive HO scale public works project that we are building for one of our clients.

Tokyo Layout Completed

The N scale Tokyo layout that we have been working on has been completed and installed in the customer's home. Below there is a preview of it. We have added a gallery page for this project, there is a link below. Um... yes, we get paid to do this.
